We are seeking a compassionate, motivated, and reliable Allied Health Assistant (AHA) to join our team and work alongside our Occupational Therapists to support clients in achieving their goals and increasing independence.

About the Role

As an Allied Health Assistant, you will work under the direction and supervision of an Occupational Therapist to implement therapy programs and support clients in their homes, schools, community settings, and clinics.

This role is ideal for students currently studying Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Speech Pathology, Exercise Physiology, Psychology, Social Work, Nursing, or related health sciences, as well as qualified Allied Health Assistants looking to gain valuable hands-on experience.

Key Responsibilities

- Deliver therapy programs and activities designed by Occupational Therapists and other Allied Health Professionals.
- Support clients to develop functional, communication, mobility, independence, and daily living skills in home, school, clinic, and community settings.
- Assist clients to safely participating in therapy activities, exercises, and goal-focused interventions.
- Support clients with skill development, routine building, community participation, and engagement in meaningful activities.
- Support clients to use prescribed assistive technology, therapy equipment, and visual supports under clinician guidance.
- Prepare therapy resources, materials, and equipment required for sessions.
- Monitor client progress and provide feedback to supervising clinicians regarding engagement, outcomes, barriers, risks, and changes in function.




- Complete session notes, progress reports, and documentation in accordance with organisational and professional requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of service delivery and communicate relevant information to supervising clinicians.
- Work collaboratively with Allied Health Professionals, families, carers, support workers, schools, and other stakeholders.
- Participate in regular supervision, training, and team meetings.
- Follow all organisational policies, participant safety requirements, privacy obligations, and professional standards.
- Maintain professional and ethical boundaries at all times.
- Report incidents, risks, safety concerns, or participant issues to the supervising clinician or management.

Key Selection Criteria: Qualifications & Experience
- Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance (or equivalent qualification).
- Experience supporting individuals with disabilities
- Current Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Valid driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle (preferred for community roles).

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow structured therapy plans and clinical instructions.
- Empathetic, patient, and person-centred approach.
- Reliable, organised, and able to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Basic computer and documentation skills (e.g. case notes, data entry and emails).
