Located on Lake Caroline in Caroline Springs, WestWaters Hotel is a multi-faceted hospitality destination bringing the local community together through outstanding food, drinks and entertainment.

About the Role:
We are seeking a motivated and passionate 1st or 2nd Year Apprentice Chef, or someone looking to commence their apprenticeship, to join our kitchen team on a full-time basis.
This is a great opportunity for an apprentice looking to build their skills in a busy and diverse kitchen environment. You’ll have the opportunity to work across different sections and areas of the kitchen, gaining hands-on experience across à la carte, bistro, sports bar, cocktail bar and conference operations.
You’ll work alongside an experienced culinary team, learning new skills and techniques while developing the knowledge and confidence needed to progress your career in hospitality.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with daily food preparation and kitchen operations
- Work across different sections and kitchen areas as required
- Support the team across à la carte, bistro, events and conference service
- Learn and develop culinary skills and techniques under the guidance of senior chefs
- Follow recipes, food safety procedures and presentation standards
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment
- Assist with receiving, storage and rotation of food supplies
- Minimise waste and contribute to efficient kitchen operations
About You:
- 1st or 2nd Year Apprentice Chef with a genuine willingness to learn (adult and junior apprentices are both welcomed to apply)
- No previous kitchen experience required, but a genuine interest in cooking and a willingness to learn are what matter most
- Passionate about cooking and keen to build a career in hospitality
- Eager to develop your skills across different styles of service and kitchen operations
- Reliable, motivated and willing to get involved
- Strong communication skills and ability to follow directions
- Positive attitude and commitment to being part of a team
- Able to work effectively in a busy, fast-paced kitchen environment
- Food Handler’s Certificate or willingness to obtain one
