Job Description

Youth and Community Worker (4 Positions Available) - NSW Government

n

Location: Town Hall, Sydney (100% Office-Based)

n

Employment Type: 12-Month Contract

n

Start Date: ASAP

n

Hours: Up to 25 hours per week, working between 9:30am and 5:30pm

n

Pay Rate: $35 - $40 per hour + Superannuation

n

Roster: Provided at least one week in advance

n

About the Role

n

We are seeking four passionate and community-focused Youth and Community Workers to join our team. In this rewarding role, you will help plan, deliver, and evaluate a range of social, cultural, educational, and recreational programs that promote social inclusion, connection, and wellbeing, with a particular focus on supporting young people.

n

Working within a agile community environment, you will engage with young people, community groups, and service providers to deliver impactful programs that make a positive difference in the community.

n

Key Responsibilities

n

n
- Plan, implement, and evaluate youth and community programs that support wellbeing, engagement, and social inclusion.
n
- Build and maintain strong relationships with community organisations, stakeholders, and service providers to enhance service delivery outcomes.
n
- Facilitate activities and programs designed to engage young people from diverse backgrounds and with varying support needs.
n




- Undertake administrative and operational duties to ensure the safe, effective, and compliant delivery of community services and programs.
n
- Support the ongoing development of programs and initiatives that respond to the needs of the local community.
n

About You

n

To be successful in this role, you will have:

n

n
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Youth Work, Social Work, Community Services, or a related discipline, and/or significant experience working with young people.
n
- Demonstrated experience planning and delivering social, cultural, educational, or recreational programs for young people.
n
- Strong relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills.
n
- Experience working with young people and community members with diverse and complex needs.
n
- A sound understanding of relevant legislation, policies, and best practice frameworks relating to youth and community services.
n
- A current First Aid Certificate, or a willingness to obtain one.
n

Mandatory Requirements

n

n
- Valid Working With Children Check (WWCC).
n
- Willingness to undertake a Criminal Record Check in accordance with legislative requirements.
n
- Ability to work onsite at Town Hall House.
n

n

Reporting To

n

This role reports to the Youth Team Leader, Centre Manager, or Area Manager.
