Role Description This part time remote Backend Developer role at HabiSite | Arquitectura con Propósito focuses on building and maintaining scalable, secure server-side applications and APIs. Daily responsibilities include designing and implementing backend services, integrating databases, and ensuring reliable data flow between front-end interfaces and core systems.

The Backend

Developer collaborates with front-end developers and designers to deliver cohesive user experiences, reviews and optimizes existing code for performance, and contributes to technical documentation and code reviews. The role also involves troubleshooting production issues, implementing best practices for testing and deployment, and participating in regular online meetings to align on project goals and timelines.

Qualifications

- Demonstrated experience in Back-End Web Development, including building APIs and integrating databases.




- Strong Programming skills with proficiency in at least one server-side language and framework.
- Background in Software Development, with familiarity in software lifecycle, version control, and testing practices.
- Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and their application in maintainable code.
- Basic knowledge of Front-End Development to collaborate effectively with front-end teams.
- Experience working in remote or distributed teams, with strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to write clean, secure, and well-documented code; experience with code review processes is an asset.

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Familiarity with modern CI/CD pipelines, cloud services, and relational or NoSQL databases is beneficial.
