Role Description The Business Development Manager is a part-time, hybrid role based in the Greater Brisbane Area, with flexibility for some work from home. This role involves identifying and qualifying new business opportunities, nurturing relationships with existing and prospective clients, and developing tailored proposals that align with customer freight and logistics needs. Day-to-day tasks include conducting market research, managing a sales pipeline, preparing presentations and quotations, and collaborating with operations to ensure service capabilities meet client expectations.
The Business Development
Manager will track performance metrics, provide regular forecasts and reports,
and represent Paraclete Logistics at relevant industry events or meetings as needed. The role requires proactive communication, strategic thinking, and a strong focus on customer satisfaction and long-term partnerships.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in business development, sales, or account management within transport, logistics, or related industries.
- Strong skills in client relationship management, negotiation, and stakeholder communication.
- Ability to conduct market and competitor research, analyze data, and develop growth strategies.
- Competence with CRM systems, Microsoft Office or equivalent productivity tools, and basic report preparation.
- Solid understanding of freight operations, compliance requirements, and service delivery constraints is highly regarded.
- Demonstrated capacity to work independently, manage priorities in a part time schedule, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Valid work rights in Australia and the ability to travel within the Greater Brisbane Area for client meetings as required.
