The opportunity
n
Mangrove Housing is seeking a dedicated Housing Support Worker to join our Temporary Supported Accommodation Service in Kingston, Logan City.
n
This service operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and successful applicants will work across a rotating roster, including day, afternoon, overnight, weekend, and public holiday shifts. Specific shift arrangements will be discussed during the recruitment process.
n
In this role you will support clients who are experiencing or at risk of experiencing homelessness in motels or onsite in temporary supported accommodation, working alongside them to provide high-quality strengths-based case management.
n
Housing Support Workers assist clients to overcome barriers and achieve their goals in a safe and secure environment. Working from a person centred, trauma informed framework our focus is always on meeting the unique needs and goals of each individual, assisting them to make positive and lasting changes within their lives.

A key outcome of the role is to assist clients to access safe, affordable, and sustainable housing outcomes.

All about you
n
You have a background and passion for working with people in the housing and homelessness space and have a housing first approach to service delivery.
To be considered for the position you must be able to address the essential criteria below:
n
n
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in related discipline, diploma level or higher and/or relevant sector experience
n
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills in holistic case management that is client-centred, including a strong focus on customer service and the ability to treat clients with respect and compassion
n
- Experience working in accordance with person centred and trauma informed practice principles
n
- Demonstrated understanding of client vulnerabilities such as domestic and family violence, drug and alcohol use, and mental health.
n
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
n
- Knowledge of and ability to work within relevant legislation and guidelines relating to the provision of specialist homelessness services
n
- Demonstrated commitment to maintaining professional boundaries
n
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccination status (2+ doses required)
n
n
Before commencing work with us, you will be required to undertake a national police history check, qualifications and referee checks and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people (Blue Card).
