Location: Lismore, NSW, 2480 Full-Time: Immediate start Job Title: Community Worker Salary Range: $79,500 - $82,000 Job Closes Date: 30 Days About the Role Our client, an independent Christian charity, is dedicated to improving quality of life for people with complex needs.

They specialize in aged and dementia care, palliative care, rehabilitation, and mental health services for older people, delivered across home care, sub-acute hospitals, and residential aged care. We are seeking a Community Worker to join their team and support creative, person-centred care models.

Key Duties & Responsibilities Spiritual Care & Support
n
n
- Develop and maintain individualized spiritual care plans for clients, collaborating with staff to ensure their spiritual needs are acknowledged and documented appropriately.
n
- Provide initial and ongoing spiritual and emotional support to clients and their families, offering compassionate presence and guidance throughout their care journey.
n
- Participate in case management reviews, contributing insights on clients' spiritual and emotional needs to inform care plan development and evaluation.
n

Community & Staff Engagement
n
n
- Liaise with relevant religious and spiritual leaders to coordinate appropriate support for clients and families when needed.
n
- Offer prayerful spiritual and emotional support to staff, distributing relevant materials, articles, and books as appropriate.
n
- Write articles for organizational publications on topics related to spiritual care, reflection, and wellbeing.
n

Professional Development & Ethics
n
n
- Provide Christian perspectives on ethical issues as requested, supporting decision-making in complex care situations.
n
- Deliver staff learning sessions in pastoral care areas, including boundaries, grief and loss, faith and hope, as directed by the Pastoral Care Manager and in consultation with key stakeholders.
n

Requirements & Experience
n
n
- Diploma or Certificate IV in community services, social work, pastoral care, theology, or a related field.
n
n
Candidates who do not hold the required qualification but have substantial hands-on experience and proven capability in a similar role will be considered.
n
n
- At least 3 years of experience providing spiritual and emotional support to older adults, including individuals living with dementia, receiving palliative care, or experiencing mental health conditions.
n
- Understanding of Christian faith and ability to offer prayerful support and articulate Christian perspectives on ethical issues.
n
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with sensitivity to diverse spiritual and cultural backgrounds.
n
- Ability to write articles and develop educational materials for staff and publications.
n
- Experience facilitating staff learning sessions on grief, loss, boundaries, and faith-related topics.
n
- Current driver's license and willingness to travel across service locations.
n
- Alignment with the organization's Christian ethos and values.
