The office of Julian Leeser MP is seeking applications for a full-time ongoing Digital Communications and Community Campaigns Officer, based in the Parliamentarian's Electorate Office in Pennant Hills, NSW.

Position overview

n

We are looking for a talented, energetic and politically engaged Digital Communications & Community Campaigns Officer to join Julian Leeser MP's team.

n

This is a hands‐on political communications and campaigning role for someone that can create compelling content, build an audience and help turn local issues into effective community campaigns.

n

You will work closely with Julian and the broader team across the electorate and at Australian Parliament House.

n

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

n

Create, edit and publish engaging social media content, particularly short‐form video, and drive online and social media campaigns

n

Help grow Julian's online reach, engagement and audience

n

Manage content across social media and other digital platforms

n

Develop and support local community campaigns, events and engagement activities

n

Produce digital and physical campaign materials

n

Monitor media for emerging portfolio, political and local issues

n

Contribute to parliamentary communications, speeches and rapid‐response content

n

Promote, support and maintain a safe, respectful and inclusive workplace culture.

n

Other duties as required to support the Parliamentarian and the effective operation of the Electorate Office.

n

This position requires regular travel to Canberra during parliamentary sitting periods and other areas within Australia as required.

n

The ability to work effectively in a fast‐paced team setting

n

An understanding of and alignment with Liberal ideas and values with good political instincts.

Demonstrated professional integrity and the ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality.

n

A respectful demeanour when engaging with office staff and constituents.

n

You may come from politics, campaigning, social media, communications, journalism, marketing or content creation. What matters most is what you can do.

Employment conditions:

n

The position is offered under the Members of Parliament (Staff) Act 1984 and conditions are outlined in the Commonwealth Members of Parliament Staff Enterprise Agreement 2024-27 which include:

n

A commencing salary between $105,883 and $110,406 (includes electorate support allowance in recognition of travel requirements) will be negotiated depending on experience and relevant skills.

n

An employer superannuation contribution of 15.4% will be payable.

n

Applicants should note the following:

n

An initial probationary period of three months will apply and may be subject to extension.

n

The successful applicant may be required to undergo a National Police History Check.

n

Staff may be subject to automatic cessation triggers in accordance with Section 14 of the MOP(S) Act.

n

The successful applicant will be required to comply with their obligations under the Behaviour Codes and Standards.

n

This role requires regular travel to Canberra, and other parts of Australia as required, in addition to irregular work hours including some evening, weekend and public holiday work will be required.
