This role operates within Westhaven's Immediate Transition Model (ITM), designed to support children and young people with complex needs and trauma backgrounds. Through trauma-informed care, structured support, and daily guidance, you will help create a safe, stable environment where young people can build confidence and thrive.

Competitive Pay: Earn $36.22 â $39.53 per hour (SCHADS Award) + casual/shift loadings + 12% Super.

As a Support Worker, no two days are the same. You will provide 24/7 relational and therapeutic support by:
n
n
- Providing a safe, nurturing, and structured home environment for young people.
n
- Supporting daily living skills, emotional regulation, and personal development.
n
- Facilitating community engagement, educational support, and recreational activities.
n
- Note: As children and young people require round-the-clock care, 24/7 shift availability (including active night shifts, weekends, and sleepovers) is required.
n
n
Qualifications & Experience:
n
n
- Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention (or relevant qualification), or as per the Residential Care Competency Framework (when implemented), or a Diploma in Community Services (or related field) preferred.
n
- Previous experience in residential care, youth work, or providing direct care to children and young people.
n
- Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander applicants: A formal qualification is desirable, but relevant experience and a willingness to participate in training is warmly welcomed and accepted.
n
n
Essentials:
n
n
- Valid NSW Driver's Licence.
n
- Current First Aid & CPR Certification.
n
- Paid Working with Children Check (WWCC) & NDIS Worker Screening Check.
n
- Willingness to be listed on the Residential Care Workers Register (RCWR).
n
- Full working rights in Australia (Westhaven cannot provide visa sponsorship for this role).
