We are seeking an experienced and proactive Work Health & Safety (WHS) Manager to join our team based in Penrith and lead our WHS function across the organisation.

This is a key leadership role with the opportunity to shape WHS strategy, strengthen safety systems and embed a culture where safety is everyone's responsibility.

About the Role

Reporting to the Director of Quality and Clinical Governance , the WHS Manager will provide expert advice and leadership across all aspects of workplace health and safety.

You will oversee the WHS framework and management system, lead risk and incident management, support injury management and workers compensation, coordinate safety training and consultation, and ensure ongoing compliance with NSW WHS legislation and relevant healthcare standards.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and maintain the WHS framework, policies and management system in line withNSW legislation and Acurio Health requirements

Provide expert WHS advice to Executive and monitor legislative and regulatory changes





Lead injury management, workers compensation and return-to-work processes, including early intervention

Develop and deliver WHS training, induction and safety awareness programs

Conduct WHS audits and inspections and ensure corrective actions are implemented and monitored

Prepare accurate WHS reports, analyse safety data and maintain records to support accreditation and regulatory requirements

Chair the WHS Committee and promote effective consultation and communication across clinical and operational teams

About You

We are looking for a confident WHS professional who combines strong technical expertise with practical, people-focused leadership.

You will bring:

Tertiary qualification in Work Health & Safety, Occupational Health & Safety or a related discipline.

Minimum 5 years' experience in a WHS leadership role, ideally within healthcare or another regulated industry.

Demonstrated experience developing, implementing and maintaining WHS management systems and frameworks.

Sound working knowledge of the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 (NSW), Regulations and relevant Codes of Practice.

Experience in incident investigation,



injury management and workers compensation claims management.

Solid stakeholder engagement and influencing skills across clinical and non-clinical teams.

High attention to detail and sound judgement under pressure.

Ability to balance regulatory compliance with practical, patient-centred hospital operations.

A resilient, proactive and solutions-focused approach.
