Bright Steps Academy Victor Harbor is a brand-new childcare and early learning centre located in Chiton, providing high-quality education and care for children aged 6 weeks to 6 years.

We’re passionate about creating a safe, welcoming and nurturing environment where every child can learn, grow and thrive. Healthy, nutritious and delicious food is an important part of that journey, supporting children’s wellbeing, development and positive relationship with food.

We're looking for a passionate Cook/Chef to join our warm, vibrant team! (Cert III in Commercial Cookery preferred)

If you love creating healthy, delicious meals for children — and enjoy bringing joy to little learners through fun cooking experiences — we'd love to hear from you.

Why This Role Is Perfect for You You're someone who:

- Loves preparing nutritious, tasty meals for children
- Enjoys sharing your love of food through child-friendly cooking experiences
- Is organised, efficient, and confident managing daily kitchen routines
- Holds a Food Safety Supervisor Certificate and/or Food Handling qualifications
- Has a valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) (or can obtain one)
- Has First Aid/CPR (a bonus, not essential)
- Thrives in a supportive, friendly team environment

What You'll Be Doing





- Designing and preparing seasonal menus that meet nutrition guidelines, allergies, and dietary requirements — within budget
- Preparing and serving meals and snacks for children each day
- Running engaging cooking experiences/classes with the children
- Supporting healthy-eating initiatives and centre programs
- Building warm relationships with children, families, and the team
- Maintaining excellent standards of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen organisation
