Manufacturing Operator – Probiotic Blending

The Manufacturing Operator is responsible for carrying out daily manufacturing

n

activities including the weighing, sieving, blending, and packing of probiotic powder

n

products in a GMP-compliant, TGA-licensed facility. This role requires strict adherence

n

to quality, hygiene, and safety standards, ensuring all products are manufactured to

n

specification and in compliance with regulatory and internal procedures.

Position Overview

n

The Manufacturing Operator is responsible for carrying out daily manufacturing

n

activities including the weighing, sieving, blending, and packing of probiotic powder

n

products in a GMP-compliant, TGA-licensed facility. This role requires strict adherence

n

to quality, hygiene, and safety standards, ensuring all products are manufactured to

n

specification and in compliance with regulatory and internal procedures.

n

Key Responsibilities

n

Manufacturing Tasks

n

n
- Perform accurate weighing, sieving, blending, and packing of probiotic powders following approved Batch Manufacturing Records (BMRs).
n
- Operate manufacturing equipment such as IBC blenders, weighing, seiving, vacuum lifters, and foil sealers.
n
- Conduct in-process checks (e.g. weight, appearance, label verification) and report
n
- Ensure correct product and lot traceability during all stages of manufacturing.
n
- Support the changeover and line clearance process between product batches.
n

GMP Compliance & Documentation

n

n
- Complete batch documentation, logbooks, cleaning records, and checklists accurately and in real time.
n
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and report any deviations immediately.
n
- Participate in internal audits, training, and quality system improvement activities.
n

n

Cleaning & Hygiene





n

n
- Perform cleaning of equipment and production areas in line with validated cleaning procedures.
n
- Follow growing requirements and maintain strict personal hygiene in cleanroom.
n
- Adhere to allergen control, cross-contamination prevention, and environmental monitoring protocols.
n

Health & Safety

n

n
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required and follow site WHS protocols.
n
- Report unsafe conditions, equipment malfunctions, or incidents immediately.
n
- Operate equipment safely and participate in safety meetings or toolbox talks.
n

n

Team & Communication

n

- Work collaboratively with manufacturing team members and supervisors.
n
- Attend daily shift handovers and contribute to a productive and positive team.
n
- Communicate clearly and respectfully to support smooth production operations.
n

Qualifications & Experience

n

n
- Previous experience in GMP pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, or food manufacturing.
n
- Ability to follow written instructions and complete detailed documentation accurately.
n
- Physically fit – able to lift up to 25 kg, stand for long periods, and perform repetitive tasks.
n
- Understanding of hygiene, safety, and product handling requirements.
n
- Experience in probiotic or powder blending environments.
n
- Forklift licence (LF) and/or experience operating pallet jacks and tugs.
n
- Certificate III or IV in Pharmaceutical Manufacturing or equivalent.
n
- High attention to detail.
n
- Robust work ethic and reliability.
n
- Ability to work both independently and within a team.
n
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
n
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new processes.
n
- Dry powder blending and cleanroom areas.
n
- Manual handling, equipment operation, and extended periods of standing.
n
- May involve rotating shifts and occasional weekend or overtime work.
