Job Description
When people hear the name Meyer Food Co, most haven't heard of us, and that's fine. We're not a brand in the spotlight, but we're behind some of the biggest names in Australia. Our products are used by major retailers, clubs, pubs, national fast-food chains, aged care providers and hospitals across the country.
n
We specialise in value-added food. Using a unique cooking (Sous Vide) and packaging process, we take raw ingredients and turn them into slow-cooked, nutritious, great-tasting meals. Last year alone, we produced enough meat to feed every person in Australia three times over. Chances are, you've eaten our products plenty of times without even realising.
n
What we need
n
We're looking for a Maintenance Electrician to join our close-knit maintenance team and help keep our production, processing and packaging equipment running safely and reliably.
n
This is a hands‐on role working across a broad range of electrical systems, automated equipment and production machinery. No two days are the same, and you'll have the prospect to troubleshoot problems, improve equipment reliability and make a genuine impact on how the site operates.
n
What You'll Be Doing
n
n
- Respond to electrical and equipment breakdowns — fault find, diagnose and repair issues to get production back up and running safely and quickly.
n
- Carry out preventative and predictive electrical maintenance across production, processing and packaging equipment.
n
- Fault find electrical control systems, PLC's, motors, sensors, drives and automated equipment.
n
- Diagnose and resolve electrical faults across machinery and site infrastructure.
n
- Work alongside mechanical trades and production teams to identify recurring equipment issues and improve reliability.
n
- Use our computerised maintenance system to plan, record and track maintenance activities.
n
- Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, commissioning and improvement projects.
n
- Support production teams with machine changeovers and technical troubleshooting.
n
- Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying safer, smarter and more efficient ways to operate.
n
- Ensure all electrical work is completed safely and in accordance with relevant standards and site requirements.
n
- Available for other tasks including mechanical works
n
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised workshop and work setting.
n
n
What You'll Bring
n
n
- A recognised Electrical Trade Qualification and current NSW Electrical Licence.
n
- Experience in industrial maintenance, manufacturing or a similar environment.
n
- Experience fault finding on production, packaging or processing equipment would be highly regarded.
n
- A strong understanding of electrical control systems, PLC's, motors, sensors, drives and automated machinery.
n
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset — you enjoy finding the cause of a problem, not just fixing the symptom.
n
- Strong communication skills and a genuine team-first approach.
n
- The ability to prioritise competing maintenance requirements and work independently when needed.
n
n
The Details
n
This is a full-time, 38-hour-per-week position, with flexibility around your preferred start and finish time:
n
n
- 7:00am – 3:00pm, or
n
- 8:00am – 4:00pm
n
n
You'll report to the Maintenance Manager and work as part of a supportive maintenance team responsible for keeping a busy food manufacturing site operating safely and reliably.
n
Occasional Saturday work may be required depending on maintenance and production requirements.
n
Why You'll Love Working Here
n
At Meyer Food Co., you're not just a number. You're part of a team that values reliability, craftsmanship and looking out for each other. We celebrate wins, share ideas and work hard to make things better every day.
n
You'll have the opportunity to work across a diverse range of equipment, solve real problems and contribute to improving how our operation runs. Plus, you'll enjoy heavily discounted meat products, so your next barbecue is always a winner.
n
If you're an experienced electrician who enjoys fault finding, solving problems and keeping things running, we'd love to hear from you.
