Coastline Rehabilitation Project Officer
Temporary Full-Time (Up to December 2027) | QLGIA (Stream A) Level 6 Location: Yeppoon | Reports to: Coordinator Natural Resource Management
Are you passionate about environmental restoration and looking to make a meaningful impact on the Capricorn Coast? We are seeking a motivated and capable Coastline Rehabilitation Project Officer to coordinate the delivery of several significant coastal recovery projects funded under the Tropical Cyclone Alfred Coastline Rehabilitation Grant. This is a unique opportunity to contribute directly to the restoration and long-term resilience of Livingstone Shire's beaches and coastal environments while working with a dedicated and passionate team

About the Role: As the Coastline Rehabilitation Project Officer, you will:
- Lead and coordinate coastal rehabilitation projects funded through the Tropical Cyclone Alfred Coastline Rehabilitation Grant.
- Manage project planning, governance, delivery, reporting and grant compliance requirements.
- Oversee on-ground rehabilitation activities including dune restoration, erosion control, revegetation, sand nourishment and protection of coastal assets.
- Coordinate contractors, procurement processes, project budgets and risk management activities.
- Build strong relationships with funding bodies, contractors, community groups, residents and internal stakeholders to support successful project outcomes.
- Monitor and communicate project performance, prepare grant acquittals and contribute to future coastal resilience initiatives.
- Champion Council's values and contribute to a protected, inclusive and high-performing workplace.
What You Will Bring:
- Knowledge and experience in coastal and environmental management,
including beach rehabilitation, erosion mitigation or disaster recovery programs.
- Demonstrated project management experience with the ability to successfully coordinate and deliver projects within budget, scope and timeframes.
- Experience managing project budgets, procurement processes, contracts and funding compliance requirements.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent organisational and digital literacy skills, including experience using Microsoft Office and project management systems.
- Tertiary qualifications in environmental management, natural resource management, coastal management, project management or a related discipline, or significant relevant experience.
- Current C Class Driver Licence.
Desirable
- Experience working within local government or the public sector.
- Practical experience delivering coastal rehabilitation, environmental restoration or dune management projects.
- Experience delivering disaster recovery or emergency response funded project
