Zanobia is a premium Lebanese dining destination in Barangaroo, Sydney, offering refined Lebanese cuisine, warm hospitality, and a high-end dining experience. We are looking for a passionate and motivated Commis Chef to join our kitchen team.

About the Role

As a Commis Chef, you will support the kitchen team in the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes while maintaining excellent food safety, hygiene, and kitchen standards. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to develop their culinary skills in a professional and fast-paced restaurant environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist with food preparation and basic cooking across different sections of the kitchen.
- Prepare ingredients according to recipes, specifications, and portion requirements.
- Assist chefs with mise en place and daily kitchen preparation.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations, equipment, and kitchen areas.
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and HACCP procedures.
- Ensure food is stored, labelled, and rotated correctly.
- Maintain consistent quality, presentation, and portion control.
- Assist with receiving and storing deliveries when required.
- Work efficiently during busy service periods.
- Follow instructions from the Head Chef and senior kitchen team.




- Minimise food waste and use ingredients responsibly.
- Maintain a positive and skilled attitude as part of the kitchen team.

About You
- Previous experience in a commercial kitchen is preferred but not essential.
- A genuine passion for food and hospitality.
- Willingness to learn and develop culinary skills.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and well presented.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
- Relevant culinary qualifications or Certificate III in Commercial Cookery is an advantage.
