About the Role The Communications & Engagement Advisor will provide strategic communications and engagement support to technical and professional project teams, with a particular focus on community engagement, stakeholder management and issues management.

Working closely with project managers, you will develop and implement communication and engagement strategies, build relationships with communities and stakeholders, and provide advice on emerging communication and reputational issues.

A key part of the role will be taking complex or technical project information and turning it into clear, accessible and audience-appropriate communications. You will also contribute to media responses and high-level correspondence, requiring excellent writing skills, sound judgement and the confidence to communicate across a diverse stakeholder environment.

Your Responsibilities:

- Develop and implement project communication and engagement strategies.
- Coordinate community and stakeholder engagement activities.
- Build relationships with communities, landholders and interest groups.
- Provide advice on stakeholder and reputational issues.
- Prepare communications, correspondence and media responses.




- Translate technical information for non-technical audiences.
- Support project teams with communications and stakeholder advice.

About You

We are interested in candidates who bring strong communication capability and sound judgement, even if your experience has been gained in a different environment.

- Experience in communications, journalism, media, public affairs, stakeholder engagement or a related field.
- Excellent writing skills and the ability to tailor complex information for different audiences.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the confidence to engage with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Sound judgement when dealing with sensitive, emerging or reputational issues.
- Experience within government, infrastructure or major projects is advantageous, but not essential.

You may currently be working in journalism, media, communications, public affairs or stakeholder engagement and looking to apply your skills in a major project environment. We welcome applications from candidates with strong transferable experience who may not have worked in an identical role previously.
