Contract Emcee / Entertainment Host – Sefton Playhouse

Sefton Playhouse is looking for an energetic, confident and engaging Emcee to help bring our venue atmosphere to life.

This is a contracted role suited to someone who loves being on the microphone, enjoys interacting with customers and knows how to get a crowd involved.

We’re looking for a strong personality who can confidently engage with patrons, introduce entertainment, promote venue activities and help create an exciting and memorable customer experience.

About the Role

As our Contract Emcee / Entertainment Host, you will be responsible for:

- Engaging with customers and creating a fun, energetic atmosphere
- Hosting and introducing entertainment, performers and special events
- Making clear and engaging announcements over the microphone
- Encouraging crowd participation and customer involvement
- Promoting upcoming entertainment, competitions and venue activities
- Building rapport with customers and regular patrons
- Supporting DJs, performers, management and venue staff during events
- Adapting your hosting style to suit different crowds and trading periods
- Maintaining a skilled and positive presence while representing Sefton Playhouse

About You We’re looking for someone who:
- Has an outgoing, energetic and confident personality
- Loves speaking on a microphone
- Has a strong customer engagement presence
- Is confident approaching and interacting with customers
- Knows how to get a crowd involved
- Can create excitement and atmosphere
- Can think on their feet and speak naturally
- Is comfortable speaking in front of groups and larger crowds
- Has excellent communication and people skills
- Can read the room and adjust their energy accordingly
- Is reliable, punctual and professionally presented
- Is comfortable working in a busy hospitality and entertainment environment





Previous Experience Previous experience in any of the following will be highly regarded:
- Emcee / MC work
- Nightlife or entertainment hosting
- Hospitality
- Events
- Promotions
- DJ or entertainment environments
- Live entertainment
- Crowd engagement

Previous professional Emcee experience is not essential. If you have the personality, confidence and ability to command a room, we encourage you to apply.

Applicants are highly encouraged to provide supporting Instagram links/facebook links of any performances demonstrating previous Emcee, hosting, microphone or crowd-engagement experience.

- Hosting an event
- Speaking on a microphone
- Introducing performers
- Running a competition
- Engaging with a crowd
- Hosting a hospitality or nightlife event

This is highly encouraged but is not essential to apply.

The Engagement

- Independent Contractor / Contracted position
- Entertainment and event-focused work
- Engagement dates and hours based on venue requirements
- Contractor rate to be discussed with shortlisted applicants
- Applicants must be able to meet the requirements associated with working as an independent contractor
