Contracts Administrator | Major Infrastructure | $700–$900 + Super 6 Contract Opportunities | NSW Government | Major Transport Infrastructure An excellent opportunity has become available for six experienced Contract Administrators to join a major NSW Government transport and infrastructure environment, supporting significant projects across commercial, procurement and contract delivery activities.
These roles will suit commercially minded Contract Administrators with strong experience in post-award contract administration, contract management, payment claims, variations, supplier performance and commercial governance.
Contract: ASAP – end of January 2027
Rate: $700–$900 per day + super

Location: Sydney The opportunity Working within an established Commercial and Contracts function, you will provide end-to-end post-award contract administration across a portfolio of complex contracts supporting major transport and infrastructure programs.
You will work closely with project teams, commercial specialists, procurement professionals, contractors and suppliers to ensure contracts are administered effectively, contractual obligations are met and strong commercial outcomes are achieved.
The role will involve contracts across project procurement, construction, project delivery, professional services and operational/service environments.
Key responsibilities You will be responsible for:
- Providing post-award contract administration and contract management support across complex infrastructure and professional services contracts
- Reviewing, assessing and processing payment claims, progress claims, invoices, contractual claims and variations
- Developing and maintaining Contract Management Plans, contract registers, KPIs and governance frameworks
- Monitoring contractor and supplier performance, contractual obligations and commercial outcomes
- Managing contract variations, change, claims and contractual correspondence
- Identifying and managing commercial, contractual, procurement and supplier risks
- Supporting budget analysis, cost reporting, forecasting and expenditure reporting
- Preparing commercial reports, briefing notes, approvals and contractual documentation
- Monitoring performance against agreed KPIs, deliverables, milestones and contract requirements
- Supporting supplier relationship management and working closely with strategic suppliers and contractors
- Providing guidance regarding contract administration, procurement procedures, governance and probity
- Ensuring contracts are administered in accordance with relevant NSW Government policies, procurement frameworks, delegations and legislative requirements
- Working collaboratively with commercial, procurement, finance, project delivery and senior stakeholder groups
The original role specifically requires demonstrated post-award contract management experience and comprehensive working knowledge of NSW Government procurement policy, frameworks and probity requirements. About you We are particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate:
- Strong experience as a Contract Administrator, Contracts Administrator, Commercial Officer, Contract Officer, Contract Advisor, Contract Specialist or Commercial Advisor
- Demonstrated post-award contract administration / contract management experience
- Experience administering complex infrastructure, transport, rail, construction, engineering or professional services contracts
- Strong understanding of payment claims, variations, claims, commercial change and contract performance
- Experience managing suppliers, contractors and contract performance
- Exposure to commercial governance, risk management, procurement and probity
- Strong financial and commercial capability including cost management, budgeting, forecasting and reporting
- Ability to interpret contractual provisions and prepare accurate contractual correspondence and documentation
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to manage multiple contracts, deadlines and competing priorities
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent commercial/contracts experience

- NSW Government
- Major transport or rail infrastructure
- Roads, civil infrastructure or major construction programs
- Client-side infrastructure delivery environments
- Tier 1 or Tier 2 engineering/construction organisations
- Professional Services Contracts (PSCs)
- NSW Government procurement policies and frameworks
- Supplier Relationship Management
- Commercial contract management
- Government procurement, governance and probity
