Job Description

As a Cremations Technician, you will be responsible for the safe and professional operation of our cremation equipment and the care of pets entrusted to us. You will play a critical role in ensuring every cremation is conducted correctly, safely and with the dignity and attention to detail our customers and veterinary partners expect.

Key responsibilities

n

n
- Safely operate and monitor pet cremators throughout the cremation process.
n
- Conduct individual and communal cremations in accordance with established procedures.
n
- Monitor cremator temperatures, cycles and operating conditions.
n
- Identify and respond appropriately to operational issues or abnormalities.
n
- Maintain strict pet identification and chain-of-custody procedures.
n
- Prepare pets for cremation respectfully and appropriately.
n
- Recover, process and prepare cremated remains in accordance with company procedures.
n
- Complete accurate cremation records and documentation.
n
- Conduct routine cleaning, inspection and basic maintenance of cremation equipment.
n
- Maintain high standards of workplace health and safety.

About you

n

n
- Minimum 3 years' practical experience operating cremators, preferably within a pet crematorium or animal aftercare environment.
n




- A recognised Australian qualification relevant to cemetery and crematorium operations, such as Certificate III in Cemetery and Crematorium Operations (or equivalent recognised Australian qualification).
n
- Demonstrated practical knowledge of cremator operation, including temperature control, cremation cycles and operating procedures.
n
- Strong understanding of identification and chain-of-custody requirements.
n
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to following documented procedures.
n
- Ability to recognise and respond to equipment or process abnormalities.
n
- Strong understanding of workplace health and safety.
n
- Ability to work independently and responsibly.
n
- A calm, respectful and compassionate approach to handling deceased pets.
n
- Full Australian working rights.
n
