Remuneration: Band 6 salary from $104,133.36 per annum plus superannuation and a fortnightly RDO

Location: Werribee based with potential for a hybrid work arrangement

About the role

As our Customer Service Training Officer, you’ll play an important role in building the skills and confidence of our customer service teams so they can provide great experiences to our community.

You’ll lead the design, delivery and continuous improvement of customer service training and capability programs across Council. This includes developing training resources, facilitating learning sessions, coaching and mentoring employees and leaders, and working with teams to identify where additional support or development is needed.

This is a varied role that combines training and facilitation with relationship building, project work and continuous improvement. You’ll work closely with Customer Service, Customer Experience, Capability and Culture and other areas across Council to develop practical learning solutions that support our people and our service to the community.

What your day will look like

- Designing, delivering and evaluating customer service training and induction programs
- Facilitating training sessions and providing coaching and mentoring to employees and leaders
- Working with teams and stakeholders to identify learning and capability needs
- Developing and maintaining engaging training resources and learning materials
- Using customer feedback and operational information to identify opportunities to improve capability and service delivery
- Coordinating projects and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance customer service and customer experience
- Working with the Capability and Culture team to connect customer service training with Council’s broader learning programs
- Building relationships across Council to support learning, change and service improvement

What you will bring

- A relevant qualification in Learning and Development, Training, Education or a related field, or substantial relevant experience




- Demonstrated expertise and experience in the design, development, delivery and evaluation of training and capability development programs using adult learning principles and contemporary training methodologies
- Solid skills and experience providing coaching, mentoring and capability support within a customer service or service-focused environment
- Highly developed communication, stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills, with the ability to collaborate across all organisational levels
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify capability gaps and develop effective learning solutions
