Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Dance Teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will deliver engaging and high-quality Dance education, supporting students to develop their technical skills, creativity, confidence and appreciation of dance as both an art form and means of expression. The role will contribute to Dance across the secondary years and to the broader creative and co-curricular life of the School.

Responsibilities:

- Develop and deliver engaging and innovative Dance programmes aligned with curriculum requirements.
- Teach a range of dance techniques, styles, performance skills and choreographic processes.
- Assess and evaluate student progress, providing constructive feedback to support ongoing development.
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages creativity, confidence, collaboration and student participation.
- Prepare and support students for performances, productions and other Dance-related events and opportunities.
- Maintain contemporary knowledge of developments in Dance education, performance and choreography.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the overall educational experience and contribute to co-curricular activities and School events.
- Communicate effectively with students,



families and staff regarding student progress and curriculum requirements.

Qualifications and Experience:

- Appropriate teaching qualifications and eligibility for registration with TRBWA.
- Demonstrated experience teaching Dance across secondary year levels.
- Strong knowledge of contemporary Dance curriculum, technique, choreography and performance practices.
- Experience teaching senior secondary Dance will be highly regarded.
- Proven ability to create engaging and inclusive learning environments that support student wellbeing and achievement.
- Robust practical Dance skills and the ability to support students across a range of abilities and experience levels.
- High-level interpersonal, student engagement and communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Experience supporting or coordinating performances, productions and co-curricular Dance activities will be well regarded.
- Commitment to continuous professional development.
- Strong proficiency in the use of contemporary digital technologies to support teaching and learning.
