Art and Music Skills highly valued Therapy Assistants / Support Workers (TRAVEL REQUIRED UP TO 30 MINUTES)
Positions available for Therapy Assistants / Support Workers with experience in working in Aged Care and /or the Community with dementia care. The ideal applicant will have a passion and dedication to enriching the quality of life for those with early onset dementia, aged care who are living at home and in residential facilities. A warm and caring nature, reliability, and excellent communication skills are essential for this role.
The applicant will need to be able to demonstrate initiative, be able to work independently also have the ability to follow directions given by Therapy Assistant Co-Ordinator as well as Occupational Therapists and/or Physiotherapists to meet the individual client goals.
Duties will extend to activities related to a person’s interests, exercise and social needs, as well as providing emotional support.
An applicant with a compassionate and patient nature is required and essential for the role.
Music and Art skills highly valued
Minimum Requirements:
- Certificate III in Aged Care/Individual Support
- Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance or equivalent or willing to undergo training
- Minimum 12 months’ experience in either Support Worker or Therapy Assistant role
- Current first aid and CPR certificate or willing to obtain one
- Knowledge of current manual handing techniques
- National Police Clearance (obtained within the last 6 months or willing to obtain)
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Drivers Licence
- Reliable Car and Comprehensive Car Insurance
- Verification of COVID Vaccine x 3
- Verification of Annual Influenza Vaccine
- Able to start immediately
