One Executive is representing a well-established Australian business operating within a critical transport and infrastructure environment, with a substantial portfolio of high-value mobile assets and operations nationally. Privately backed, they are entering an important phase of development, with a solid focus on asset performance, disciplined capital deployment, operational improvement and sustainable growth.

The role is broader than a traditional engineering or maintenance leadership position. This person will lead execution of the organisation's asset and fleet strategy, materially improve reliability and availability, optimise whole-of-life asset performance, influence major investment and lifecycle decisions, and lead across asset management, engineering and project delivery. They will also help determine how capital is deployed, how major maintenance and overhaul programs are structured and governed, how external technical and OEM partners are managed, and how significant capital projects are delivered.

They are not simply looking for the best technical person. They require a commercially minded,



hands-on asset leader who can move comfortably between the workshop floor, complex engineering discussions and an Executive or Board conversation about capital, risk and return. The successful person will understand that the technically perfect answer is not always the commercially sensible answer, and can balance safety, reliability, availability, lifecycle cost and customer outcomes.

The ideal key selection criteria include:

- Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Asset Management, Project Management or a related discipline.
- Senior leadership experience in asset-intensive industries.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex fleets or other capital-intensive assets.
- Strong understanding of asset reliability, lifecycle management and best practice maintenance strategy.
- Demonstrated experience leading organisational projects and capital programs.
- Strong understanding of risk management, engineering governance and safety-critical asset environments.
- Demonstrated commercial and financial acumen, including experience managing large P&L; and capex budgets.
