DISABILITY SUPPORT WORKER – SIL

Mary Valley / Gympie Region

We are looking for an exceptional Disability Support Worker to join a small, established Supported Independent Living team.

This isn’t about finding someone to simply fill shifts. We’re looking for the right person – someone who is calm, reliable, capable and genuinely enjoys supporting people to live a good everyday life.

The role involves supporting participants within their home and community, including daily living routines, personal care, meal preparation, household tasks, medication support, community access and meaningful activities.

We’d particularly love to hear from someone who:

- Is warm, patient and easy-going
- Is extremely reliable and consistent
- Takes initiative without taking over
- Understands professional boundaries
- Is comfortable with personal care
- Enjoys getting out into the community
- Is happy to get involved in everyday activities such as cooking, gardening, games, projects and outings
- Can work independently while also being part of a close-knit team
- Understands that a SIL house is first and foremost someone’s home
- Able to read a participants wants and needs to avoid escalations

Previous disability support experience is required,



particularly supporting people with intellectual disability within a SIL workplace.

Applicants must hold

- NDIS worker screening (yellow card)
- Minimum certificate III in individual support or similar
- First aid & CPR
- Current driver licence
- Fully comprehensive motor vehicle insurance

Casual position with regular shifts available for the right person, including days, inactive sleep overs, weekends and public holidays. We are intentionally keeping the household details private at this stage. Further information about the role, location and support environment will be provided to suitable applicants.

Pay: $45.28 – $81.50 per hour
