We're seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join our Finance team within the Finance, Infrastructure and Digital Technology directorate. This key role delivers accurate and timely financial and taxation reporting while supporting statutory obligations, operational decision-making and effective budget management across CEWA.

This is a fixed-term position to cover parental leave.

About the Role

Working within the Finance team, you will support high-quality financial governance through accurate reporting, sound accounting advice and effective stakeholder collaboration. You will work closely with program managers, team leaders, senior management and external auditors to meet reporting obligations and support informed financial decision-making.

Key responsibilities include:

- Prepare accurate and timely financial, taxation and monthly management reporting
- Assist with CEWA's consolidated statutory financial statements
- Coordinate budgets and support effective financial management across assigned business units
- Ensure GST and FBT obligations are completed accurately and within required deadlines
- Monitor accounting standards and regulatory changes, providing practical recommendations for CEWA
- Partner with internal stakeholders and external auditors to support strong financial controls, compliance and service delivery

About You

You are a qualified or progressing accounting professional who combines strong technical capability with accuracy, sound judgement and a collaborative approach.



You can explain complex financial information clearly, manage competing deadlines and build effective relationships with stakeholders across an organisation.

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA or CA qualification, or active progress toward completion
- Minimum three years' experience in a Big Four, mid-tier or financial accounting role
- Solid knowledge of accounting principles, AASB standards and financial reporting requirements
- Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder communication skills
- Prepared to support the Catholic ethos in the performance of your duties

Highly regarded:

- Experience in an education, large not-for-profit or public practice environment
- Experience using Microsoft Dynamics and Power BI
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
