The opportunities

At Workskills, our Workforce Australia Services team is passionate about supporting people across Southern Tasmania to build confidence, prepare for work and achieve their employment goals. We’re looking for a passionate Employment Coach to join our friendly Huonville team in a part-time role, working Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. This is a great chance to make a meaningful difference in your local community while being part of a supportive and dedicated team.

You’ll manage your own caseload and work closely with participants as they progress through our structured service phases, supporting them to build their readiness for work, move into employment and achieve sustainable outcomes. Using a person-centred, strengths-based approach, you’ll get to know each participant, understand their individual goals and connect them with the right supports and opportunities to build skills, confidence and meaningful pathways into employment.

You will be supported to:

- Provide client-centred, strengths-based coaching for WAS Participants in accordance with the WAS Service Delivery Manual and the WAS Deed.
- Manage a caseload of WAS Participants to provide individually tailored coaching support, through individual face-to-face appointments; small group activities; online coaching; and phone-based coaching.
- Meet individual performance targets aligned with the WAS Performance and Quality Framework and contribute to the achievement of team and whole-of-service performance targets.
- Coordinate with a range of internal supports and external organisations to provide WAS Participants with targeted vocational and non-vocational support; personal and career development activities; education placements; and work placements.

About you To be successful in this role you will have:

Essential

- Ability to work from our Huonville & Kinston sites as well as our Operations Hub located in Derwent Park on occasion.
- A genuine ability to deliver strengths-based, client-centred and co-designed support that helps people build confidence, skills, and real pathways forward.
- The ability to connect with and support people from diverse backgrounds, helping them prepare for work and/or education and achieve positive employment outcomes.
- The capability (or willingness to build) strong case management skills -tailoring services to individual needs, managing diverse caseloads with empathy and professionalism,



applying service guidelines and models, and confidently using digital case management systems.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with participants, colleagues, and external service providers.
- A current, satisfactory National Criminal Record Check and registration to Work with Vulnerable People in Tasmania (or willingness to obtain).
- A commitment to ongoing learning and professional development, including targeted, industry-specific training.

Desirable but not essential
- Educational qualifications in a relevant field
- Current Tasmanian drivers’ licence
