The Role

We're looking for a Senior R&D; & Innovation Chemist to drive the research, formulation and clinical validation of breakthrough products across our Ultraceuticals and Ultra MD ranges. This is a hands-on, high-impact role for someone who brings both deep scientific rigour and genuine creative curiosity to their work.

Joining a close-knit, talented R&D; team, you'll collaborate closely with Marketing, Education and Sales to bring category-leading, clinically substantiated products to market and you'll have the opportunity to influence product innovation through your technical expertise.

What You'll Be Doing

n

- Formulating and developing science-backed skincare products targeting key skin concerns, integrating clinically proven actives and advanced delivery technologies.
n
- Leading research into skin biology, active ingredients and emerging technologies to evolve our NPD pipeline.
n
- Designing and managing clinical testing protocols to validate product safety, tolerability and efficacy.
n
- Developing claims dossiers, scientific papers and technical documentation.
n
- Building and strengthening our intellectual property pipeline through patents and proprietary formulations.
n




- Supporting the development of our 3-year consumer-led NPD funnel with Marketing and the Head of R&D.;
n
- Ensuring all products comply with ANZ and international regulatory requirements.
n
- Partnering with external labs, universities and ingredient suppliers to accelerate development.
n
- Supporting technology transfer and scale-up from lab to manufacturing.
n
- Mentoring junior chemists and contributing to a high-performing, consumer-focused R&D; team.

About You

n

n
- Master's or PhD in Cosmetic Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Science or a related field.
n
- 5+ years' experience in cosmeceutical product development, ideally in clinical or medical-grade products.
n
- Proven experience formulating and validating skincare products with clinical backing.
n
- In-depth knowledge of dermatology, skin biology, active ingredients and cosmeceutical regulations.
n
- Hands‐on experience managing and conducting clinical trials.
n
- Strong familiarity with global cosmeceutical trends, claims substantiation and safety standards.
n
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and documentation skills.
n
- A natural collaborator who communicates confidently across both scientific and commercial teams.
