About the role

This is a hands-on factory-based position responsible for maintaining EWB's machinery, equipment and production systems in safe and reliable working condition. The successful applicant will complete daily and weekly inspections, carry out preventative maintenance, respond to breakdowns, undertake minor repairs and coordinate specialist contractors where required. You will work closely with the Production Manager and factory team to minimise equipment downtime and ensure production can operate safely and efficiently.

The role covers a range of factory machinery and equipment, including panel saws, timber saws, aluminium cutting saws, guillotines, drills, air compressors, air dryers, spray equipment, nip rollers and associated production machinery.

Key responsibilities

- Complete scheduled daily, weekly and periodic machinery inspections
- Carry out preventative maintenance, cleaning, lubrication and adjustments
- Diagnose mechanical faults and respond promptly to equipment breakdowns
- Undertake appropriate mechanical repairs and replace worn or damaged parts
- Inspect guards, emergency stops, switches, hoses, cables and moving components
- Maintain saw blades, cutting equipment, dust extraction systems and compressed-air equipment
- Identify unsafe machinery and remove equipment from service when necessary
- Coordinate external technicians and specialist service providers
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, service records and inspection checklists
- Monitor spare parts, consumables and maintenance supplies

About you

- A relevant mechanical engineering, mechanical trade, fitter and turner,



maintenance engineering or related qualification
- Previous maintenance experience within a manufacturing, production or industrial environment
- Strong mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Experience maintaining saws, compressors, pneumatic systems, cutting equipment or similar machinery
- A sound understanding of preventative maintenance procedures
- Knowledge of machinery guarding, isolation and lockout requirements
- The ability to read equipment manuals, maintenance instructions and technical information
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to workplace safety
- The ability to work independently and communicate effectively with production staff, management and contractors
