Rockhampton Hospital is seeking a Clinical Nurse (Grade 6) to join the Child and Youth Mental Health (CYMHS) ward on a contract basis. This is a focused prospect to contribute to a specialist mental health service supporting young people in the Rockhampton region. The role runs from 25 August 2026 through to 18 September 2026, offering a salary of AUD73.35 to AUD80.94 per hour. Preferred Requirements

n

n
- Solid experience in mental health nursing,



with demonstrated competence in assessment and care planning
n
- Strong understanding of child and adolescent mental health presentations and therapeutic approaches
n
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced clinical environment
n
- Excellent communication skills, particularly when engaging with young people and their families
n
- Current knowledge of mental health legislation, duty of care, and clinical governance standards
n

Preferred Qualifications

n
- Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent, with current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
n
- Post-graduate qualification or demonstrated specialist experience in mental health nursing
n
- Current First Aid and CPR certification
n
