About the organisation The Indigenous Education Foundation (IEF) is a registered charity based in Victoria, Australia. This grassroots foundation aims to prevent long-term poverty and displacement amongst indigenous peoples by empowering their development of cultural and environmental educational programs. Presently, IEF is supporting the work of Suku Mentawai, a community-run organisation based in the Mentawai Islands, Indonesia.

Purpose of the role
Support the HR team with recruitment administration while leading one or more HR improvement projects over approximately six months.
Responsibilities
· Contribute to one or two HR improvement projects based on your interests and organisational priorities.
· Assist with recruitment administration and volunteer onboarding.
· Maintain HR documentation and resources.
· Collaborate with organisational leaders and other volunteers to implement HR initiatives.
Current Strategic HR projects
Project 1 – Volunteer Onboarding
Design and implement resources to improve the volunteer onboarding experience.
Expected outcome:
- Volunteer onboarding leaflet
- Supporting onboarding resources
Project 2 – Volunteer Engagement and Recognition Design and implement initiatives that strengthen volunteer engagement and recognise volunteer contributions.
Expected outcome:
- Sustainable recognition initiatives
- Internal communication plan or channels

Time commitment
