About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate Residential Care Officer to provide holistic, person-centred support that integrates spiritual and emotional care.
n
Key Responsibilities
n
n
- Client Assessment & Holistic Care Planningn n
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' needs, including physical, emotional, social, and spiritual dimensions, and develop, implement, and monitor individualized care and support plans.
n
- Provide initial and ongoing spiritual and emotional support to clients and their families, working collaboratively with staff to ensure spiritual needs are acknowledged, documented, and addressed.
n
- Participate in case management reviews, contributing to the development and evaluation of care plans, including spiritual care components.
n

- Community Engagement, Advocacy & Spiritual Liaisonn
n
- Liaise with community groups, welfare agencies, government bodies, and religious/spiritual leaders to coordinate holistic support, promote awareness of resources, and address community issues.
n
- Assess community needs for health, welfare, housing, employment, and training, and advocate for improved access to services.
n
- Refer clients to appropriate agencies and spiritual care providers for additional help.
n
n
- Support, Supervision & Staff Developmentn
n
- Support disabled persons, and older adults, including those with dementia or palliative needs, in residential or community settings.
n
- Offer prayerful spiritual/emotional support to staff, distribute relevant materials, and deliver staff learning sessions on pastoral care topics such as grief, loss, boundaries, and faith.
n

- Reporting, Writing & Ethical Guidancen
n
- Prepare submissions for funding and resources and compile reports for government bodies and other agencies.
n
- Write articles for organizational publications on spiritual care, reflection, and wellbeing.
n
- Offer Christian perspectives on ethical issues as required, supporting decision-making in complex care situations.
n

Requirements
n
n
- Diploma or Certificate IV in community services, social work, pastoral care, theology, or a related field. Candidates who do not hold the required qualification but have substantial hands‐on experience and proven capability in a similar role will be considered.
n
- Minimum 3 years of working experience in aged care, dementia care, disability support, or spiritual care settings.
n
- Strong assessment, care planning, and documentation abilities; excellent interpersonal and advocacy skills.
n
- Current National Police Check, NDIS Worker Screening Check, and up-to-date vaccinations (as per role requirements).
n
- Alignment with the organization's Christian values and mission; ability to provide sensitive spiritual support across diverse beliefs.
n
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel between sites if required.
n
