North Queensland Skin Centre is seeking an experienced, organised and people-focused Practice Manager to join our team.

n

We are a dedicated skin cancer clinic providing comprehensive skin cancer detection, diagnosis and treatment. We pride ourselves on delivering professional, patient-centred care while maintaining a supportive and efficient workplace for our doctors and team.

We are looking for someone who can take genuine ownership of the daily operations of the practice — keeping the clinic organised, supporting our team and ensuring our patients receive a consistently high standard of service.

About the Role

n

As Practice Manager, you will oversee the smooth day-to-day running of North Queensland Skin Centre and work closely with our doctors, nursing team, administration staff and senior management.

n

Your responsibilities will include:

n

n
- Leading and supporting the reception and administration team
n
- Coordinating daily clinic operations and patient flow
n
- Staff rostering, leave management and coverage
n
- Recruitment, onboarding and training of new team members
n
- Supporting staff performance, development and workplace culture
n
- Maintaining clinic policies, procedures and operational systems
n
- Supporting accreditation, compliance and quality improvement activities
n
- Medicare billing and general practice administration
n
- Monitoring appointment books, recalls, workflows and clinic efficiency
n
- Managing patient enquiries, feedback and escalations professionally
n
- Liaising with doctors, nurses, pathology providers and external stakeholders
n
- Assisting with stock, suppliers and general facility requirements
n




- Identifying opportunities to improve systems, patient experience and practice efficiency
n
- Supporting the ongoing growth and development of the clinic
n

About You

n

We are looking for someone who is proactive, approachable and highly organised, with the confidence to lead a team while still being willing to jump in and help when needed.

n

Ideally, you will have:

n

n
- Previous experience in practice management, medical administration or a senior healthcare administration role
n
- Strong leadership and people-management skills
n
- Excellent organisation and time-management skills
n
- Experience with Medicare billing and medical practice systems
n
- A good understanding of privacy, confidentiality and healthcare compliance
n
- Robust communication and problem-solving skills
n
- Confidence managing competing priorities in a busy clinical environment
n
- A practical, hands-on approach to leadership
n
- A genuine commitment to providing an excellent patient experience
n
- Experience within general practice, dermatology, skin cancer medicine or procedural medicine would be highly regarded.
