We are seeking a motivated Leading Hand Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to join a busy and growing workshop in Salisbury. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll lead a team of skilled technicians while remaining actively involved in servicing, diagnostics and repairs.

Offering a $180 per week Leading Hand allowance, this position is ideal for someone who enjoys mentoring others, driving workshop performance and maintaining high standards of workmanship and safety.

About the Role Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, you will play a key role in coordinating daily workshop activities while providing technical expertise and leadership to the team.

Key responsibilities include:
n

- Leading and mentoring a team of mechanics
n
- Allocating daily work and monitoring workflow
n
- Carrying out servicing, maintenance, diagnostics and repairs
n
- Troubleshooting complex mechanical issues
n
- Ensuring work is completed safely and to a high standard
n
- Conducting toolbox talks and promoting a strong safety culture
n
- Reviewing job cards and maintenance documentation
n
- Supporting workshop efficiency and continuous improvement initiatives
n
- Liaising with workshop leadership regarding priorities and resources
n
n
About You To be successful, you'll bring:
n
n
- Trade Qualification in Heavy Vehicle Mechanics, Diesel Mechanics, Vehicle Body Building or Fabrication
n
- Strong heavy vehicle maintenance and repair experience
n
- Excellent diagnostic and fault-finding skills
n
- Previous Leading Hand or supervisory experience is advantageous
n
- Strong communication and leadership capabilities
n
- Commitment to safety, quality and customer service
n
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced workshop environment
n
