Primary purpose of the position

This position is responsible for delivering the highest level of customer service to patrons to ensure the kiosk operates effectively and efficiently, by filling food and beverage orders, and the handling of cash associated with pool admission and kiosk sales.

Department and Branch Description

Forming part of the Sustainability, Land, and Compliance Department, the Business and

Strategy Directorate, is responsible for planning, environment, business improvement,

records and information management, WHS and risk, contract administration and economic development.

Key accountabilities

Within the area of responsibility, this role is required to:

- Operate the kiosk and serve customers by preparing and/or serving food,

refreshments and other items.
- Perform day to day stocktaking and ensure that stock is replenished before it runs

out.
- Contribute to the overall smooth operation of the facility.

- Provide information to public on pool activities.

- Implement WHS procedures in relation to all relevant areas of responsibility and

maintain a clean and safe workplace.
- Maintain and clean the pools and surrounding areas to established standards.

- Interact with patrons in a positive and customer focused way.

- Communicate in an effective and timely manner with Recreation Facilities Supervisor

and other staff.
- Conduct basic water testing.

- Undertake opening and closing procedures as required.

- Perform duties as directed by Recreation Facilities Supervisor.

All positions in Council involve multi-skilling and consequently the interchange of duties may be required for the effective operation of the department. The duties described above are indicative of the primary duties that a person appointed to the position would be expected to perform and should not be regarded as the sole duties applicable to the position. Other duties may be assigned in accordance with skills, experience, and training.

Selection Criteria

Essential

- Current Working with Children Check clearance and verification

- Communication and teamwork skills

- Initiative and ability to work with minimum supervision

- Knowledge and understanding with a commitment to implement WH&S; principles.
- Time management and organisational skills

- Basic Food Handler Certificate

Desirable

- Current First Aid and CPR certificate
- An understanding of swimming pool operations would be highly regarded

Common requirements of the position

- Willingness to have Council conduct a Criminal History Check.

- Agree to undertake a medical assessment by Council’s nominated medical

practitioner if required and to be medically fit to undertake the full requirements of the position.
- Manage projects in accordance with corporate standards.

- Willingness to work flexible hours to meet the requirements of the position.





- Behaviour in accordance with Council’s policies and the Code of Conduct.
- Report environment issues that may become evident when carrying out the position

duties.
