Become the welcoming face of the Shire of Ashburton’s waste facilities as our new Landfill Attendant, supporting residents and visitors with positive customer service and practical waste management solutions.

About the Position The Landfill Attendant plays a key customer service role within the Shire’s waste management operations, acting as the first point of contact for residents, contractors and visitors using the Shire’s waste facilities. On the job training and support will be provided for the successful candidate. This position is responsible for:
- Working in the landfill gatehouse and managing site access
- Greeting customers and answering basic questions
- Assisting with payments, fees, and charges
- Keeping simple records and completing basic admin tasks
- Helping ensure the site is safe, tidy and operating to standard
- Following environmental and safety requirements (training provided)
About You To succeed in this role, you will be:
- Friendly, reliable and customer-focused
- Comfortable talking with members of the public
- Able to work independently and as part of a small team
- Willing to learn recent systems and processes
- Confident using basic computer systems
- Committed to working safely, following procedures, and leading by example.
- Hold a C Class Drivers Lisence and valid White Card
