Legal Operations Manager - Melbourne or Sydney preferred. Brisbane and Perth also open

You will run legal operations projects end to end for the firm's clients: the operating model, the processes, the resourcing, and the technology and AI sitting underneath. Because it is advisory work, the brief changes with each client rather than staying inside one legal function.

The client is a global law firm with a substantial Australian practice, hiring into its legal operations advisory team.

The essentials

- Permanent, full time
- Hybrid, 3 days a week in the office

What you'll do

- Advise clients on the operational effectiveness of their legal functions, including how they adopt technology and AI
- Design and deliver projects end to end as part of multidisciplinary teams
- Design and facilitate workshops that turn complex ideas into something a client can act on
- Apply legal engineering principles to translate legal and business requirements into working digital solutions
- Build client relationships and develop current work as the market shifts
- Contribute to the team's own strategy alongside client delivery

What you'll need

Essential





- Legal operations or legal transformation experience, with a track record of delivering projects end to end
- Legal operating model design, process improvement and resourcing strategy
- Legal engineering experience, designing and implementing technology-enabled solutions to streamline legal processes
- A working grasp of the legal technology and AI landscape
- Change management and design thinking
- Communication skills strong enough to influence senior stakeholders and produce client-facing material

- Data analysis and visualisation
- Business development experience in a professional services setting
- Experience developing and mentoring junior colleagues
