As electric vehicles and battery energy storage systems continue to grow in adoption, EcoCycle have invested in the infrastructure, people and expertise needed to safely recover and process these technologies at end of life.
We're seeking a Licensed Electrician to join the Campbellfield operation and take a lead role in the safe handling, de-energising and dismantling of battery energy storage systems (BESS) and electric vehicle battery packs.

About the Role
Reporting to the Site Manager, this is a hands-on technical leadership position that combines electrical expertise, safety leadership and workforce development.
Working alongside experienced battery recovery specialists, you'll become the licensed authority on site for battery de-energisation, energy recovery and dismantling activities. You'll help establish best practices, develop safe operating procedures and mentor developing technicians as the business continues to grow.

Key Responsibilities
- Safely assess, de-energise and dismantle end-of-life EV and battery energy storage systems.
- Develop and maintain safe work procedures, risk assessments and standard operating procedures.
- Lead battery recovery and diagnostics activities using specialised energy recovery equipment.
- Ensure compliance with Victorian electrical safety requirements and dangerous goods obligations.
- Champion best practice safety standards, including thermal runaway prevention, PPE compliance and emergency response procedures.
- Supervise, mentor and train trainees and operational staff to build technical capability across the team.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across safety, productivity and operational performance.
- Act as the key electrical authority within the facility.
What We're Looking For
Essential
- Current Victorian A-Grade Electrical Licence.
- Strong understanding of low-voltage electrical systems and safe isolation procedures.
- Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and risk management.
- Experience following and developing safe systems of work.
- Current First Aid, CPR and Low Voltage Rescue certification, or willingness to obtain.
- Forklift licence, or willingness to obtain.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach.
- Ability to work in a hands-on, operational environment.
Highly Regarded
- Experience with battery energy storage systems (BESS), EV batteries or renewable energy technologies.
- Battery Storage Accreditation or Solar Accreditation Australia qualifications.
- EV battery competencies, including vehicle depowering certifications.
- Experience working with high-voltage DC systems.
- Dangerous Goods handling experience, particularly lithium-ion batteries.
- Previous experience mentoring, supervising or training team members.
