Job Description
Full-Time, Term-Time, Ongoing | Commence Term 4 2026 | Coorparoo

Villanova College is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our Student Services team in an ongoing, full-time term-time capacity, commencing Term 4 2026.
n
This is a sole-practitioner nursing role embedded within a supportive and pastoral school community. You will be the primary health professional for 1,500 young men across Years 5-12, delivering clinical care, managing student health plans, and building trusted relationships with families, staff, and medical practitioners.

The Role
n
Provide assessment, triage, and treatment of student illness and injury during school hours
n
Administer and manage medications on-site and for excursions, camps, and retreats
n
Develop and maintain individual health management plans for students with chronic and high-risk conditions
n
Coordinate school-based immunisation programs in partnership with Queensland Health
n
Manage communicable disease presentations in line with Queensland Health guidelines
n
Provide first aid and emergency care to students, staff, and visitors
n
Liaise with parents, guardians, GPs, and medical specialists to ensure continuity of care
n
Contribute to health promotion activities and whole-school wellbeing initiatives
n
About You
n
The successful applicant will:
n
Hold current registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with AHPRA, with no conditions or restrictions relevant to this role
n
Bring demonstrated experience in primary health care, ideally in a school, community, or paediatric setting
n
Hold current first aid and CPR certification (HLTAID011 or equivalent) with anaphylaxis management competency
n
Demonstrate strong medication management skills,
including administration, record-keeping, and audit processes
n
Communicate clearly and compassionately with adolescent students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
n
Manage competing priorities with a high level of organisation and professional judgment
n
Hold a current and valid Blue Card (Working with Children Check, Queensland)
n
Experience in school nursing or adolescent health, and familiarity with Queensland Health immunisation programs, are desirable.
