Job Summary:

ARA Electrical Services is a rapidly expanding electrical contractor working within the industrial sector predominately in Victoria, while also completing projects nationally. Due to business growth we are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated service and maintenance electrician to join our team. You will provide electrical site maintenance coverage and breakdown support to our valued clients across Melbourne.

As a Service and Maintenance Electrician, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of electrical systems within our clients sites, complying with strict safety regulations and industry standards.

This is an exciting role with PLC and hazardous area training opportunities with huge variety in your daily tasks.

Responsibilities:

- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical systems, equipment, and components within the manufacturing industry.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues, diagnose problems, and implement effective solutions to minimise downtime.
- Repair or replace faulty electrical wiring, circuits, and equipment as needed.
- Install, test, and commission electrical systems and components, such as lighting, motors, switchgear, and control panels, VSD's and PLC systems.
- Ensure compliance with relevant electrical codes, regulations, and safety standards.
- Collaborate with other team members, contractors, and facility staff to coordinate electrical work, minimising disruptions to facility operations.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment inventory, and work performed.




- Stay updated on the latest industry practices, technologies, and regulations related to electrical systems in hazardous areas.
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols and guidelines
- Respond promptly to electrical emergencies and provide timely solutions to minimize downtime and ensure personnel safety.
- Collaborate with site management to develop and implement electrical maintenance plans and strategies specific to the site.

Qualifications:

- A-Grade License (essential)
- Instrumentation experience (beneficial)
- EEHA Certificate (beneficial, training provided for the right candidate)
- In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, equipment, and components, with expertise in industrial manufacturing plants.
- Familiarity with control systems, PLC's and VSD's.
- Proven experience working in hazardous area facilities or similar environments. (Beneficial)
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, and electrical schematics.
- Proficiency in using electrical testing and diagnostic tools.
- Robust troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality work.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members, clients, and other stakeholders.
- Availability to work day shift and occasional afternoon and night shifts and be on-call for emergencies when necessary.
