About Us

Headstart Australia is a male-focused organisation supporting boys and men through mentoring, positive role modelling and counselling. We provide tailored 1:1 support that builds trust, resilience and independence.

About the Role

We're hiring reliable Support Workers across our North, West & South East Melbourne regions. This is a casual role with consistent work, a minimum of 20 hours per week, with room to take on more. You'll work directly with males providing practical support, encouragement, and consistency across a mix of environments.

We're looking for team members who want regular, ongoing hours, not ad-hoc shifts. Let us know which region you're based in when you apply.

What You'll Do

- Provide 1:1 mentoring and support to males - helping them build skills, routines and confidence.
- Deliver support based on each participant's individual support plan, tailored to their specific goals and developed in collaboration with their care team.
- Support participants with daily living skills, routines, and positive behaviour strategies.
- Maintain transparent, professional progress notes and updates.
- Work collaboratively with families,

care teams and Headstart staff.

About You We're looking for team members who:

- Have a genuine passion for this work.
- Bring energy, consistency, and reliability.
- Can build strong rapport and act as a positive role model.
- Have experience in youth work, disability, education or mentoring.
- Are based in or near the North, West, South East, or Geelong and can commit to consistent weekly hours.
- Are available for a mix of weekday, after-school, and weekend shifts.

Requirements

- Current Working With Children Check (Employee)
- Current Police Check
- First Aid/CPR (or willingness to obtain)
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)
- Driver's licence and reliable vehicle preferred

What We Offer

- Consistent, ongoing hours on a set roster, a minimum of 20 per week on a casual rate, with scope for more.
- A supportive, male-focused mentor team in a growing organisation.
- Opportunities to be involved in group programs, camps, and new initiatives.
- Ongoing training, professional development, and room to grow with us.
