Company Description SVGW - AUSTRALIA is the Australian arm of Sports Video Group Women (SVGW), a community focused on supporting women in sports broadcast and technology roles. Established in 2018, the group hosts major events, smaller networking gatherings, and mentoring programs that engage both current professionals and the next generation of technical and creative sports broadcasters.

SVGW - AUSTRALIA aims to strengthen representation, build a supportive network, share knowledge, and create clear pathways for growth and leadership.

The organization actively promotes visibility and inclusion in sports media through its programs and initiatives.

Role Description The Mentor role at SVGW - AUSTRALIA is a volunteer position, for 11 weeks starting late September and concluding in December 2026.

Mentors will provide guidance and support to mentees working or aspiring to work in sports broadcast and related technology roles, helping them navigate career paths, develop skills, and build confidence.

This role can be remote, sessions via phone or Teams, or in person pending location of both Mentor and Mentee.

Your weekly session would include but not limited to, offering constructive feedback on professional development goals,



and sharing industry knowledge and best practices.

Mentors will collaborate with SVGW staff to design and deliver sessions, participate in networking events, and contribute to program materials and resources. The role also involves fostering an inclusive, respectful workplace that encourages diverse voices and perspectives within the sports broadcast community.

Qualifications

- Demonstrated experience in sports broadcasting, sports media, or broadcast technology, with the ability to share practical industry insights.
- Strong mentoring, coaching, or leadership capabilities, including active listening, goal setting, and constructive feedback skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and support mentees from diverse backgrounds.
- Commitment to equity, inclusion, and the advancement of underrepresented groups in media and technology.
- Ability to complete the mentoring sessions within the selected time.
- No previous mentoring, people management, or educational experience require. Familiarity with the Australian sports media landscape, are necessary.
