360 Personnel is currently seeking an experienced Metallurgist to join our client’s team based in Smithfield.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct metallurgical, mechanical and physical testing and analysis of metals and materials.
- Analyse material composition, properties and performance to ensure quality and specification requirements are met.
- Investigate material defects, failures, non-conformances and manufacturing issues.
- Interpret test results and provide technical recommendations to internal stakeholders.
- Prepare clear technical reports and maintain accurate laboratory and testing records.
- Work closely with production and engineering teams to identify and resolve technical issues.
- Ensure all testing and analysis complies with relevant standards, procedures and quality requirements.
- Support quality control, continuous improvement and the development of improved testing procedures.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
- Relevant qualifications in Metallurgy, Materials Engineering, Materials Science or a related discipline
- Previous experience in a metallurgical, materials testing or manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of metals, material properties and testing methodologies
- Experience with metallurgical analysis and failure investigation
- Ability to interpret technical data and produce clear reports
- Solid attention to detail and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- A practical, hands-on approach to technical work
- Commitment to quality, safety and continuous improvement
