We are seeking an experienced, highly organised and motivated Team Leader Administration & Accounts to lead our busy Administration Team.

This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who enjoys working across accounts, payroll and administration while also supporting and developing a small team. You’ll play an important role in keeping the day-to-day operations of the business organised, accurate and running smoothly.

With a team of around 40 people, we provide a broad range of business technology solutions including Managed IT, Managed Print, Point of Sale, Communications and Finance.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will lead a small and busy Administration Team of five.

You’ll oversee the day-to-day operation of the team while remaining hands-on across accounts, payroll and administration. We’re looking for someone who can prioritise competing demands, support their team, solve problems and make sure the details don’t get missed.

You’ll be a confident communicator and approachable leader who is equally comfortable helping a team member, speaking with a customer or supplier, working through an accounts issue or assisting management with reporting.

Key Responsibilities

The Administration Team is responsible for a wide range of functions across the business, including:

Answering phones and welcoming customers

Liaising with customers,



suppliers and subcontractors

Producing purchase orders and sales invoices

General office administration

Maintaining accurate office records and documentation

Accounts payable and accounts receivable

Bank reconciliations

Processing customer and supplier payments

Processing weekly payroll using Xero

Maintaining employee and payroll records

Managing superannuation payments and administration

As Team Leader, your specific responsibilities will include:

Leading, supporting and coordinating a team of five

Managing workloads, priorities and day-to-day workflow across the Administration Team

Training, supporting and developing team members

Managing PAYG withholding and other payroll-related obligations

Preparing and lodging Payroll Tax

Preparing and lodging BAS and PAYG obligations

Reviewing reconciliations, journals and account adjustments

Assisting management with administration, financial information and reporting

Liaising with external accountants, including preparation for end-of-financial-year requirements

Identifying opportunities to improve administrative processes and efficiencies

Helping ensure the broader office remains organised and operates smoothly

About You

We’re looking for someone who is organised,



dependable and comfortable taking ownership. You will be able to balance the needs of your team with the day-to-day demands of a busy office and know how to keep things moving when priorities change.

Ideally, you will bring:

Strong bookkeeping and accounting experience, including general ledger, bank reconciliations, journals and account adjustments

Experience in the use of ERP business software is essential,

Experience with Jim2 Business Engine software would be highly regarded, but not essential

Experience preparing and lodging BAS, PAYG and Payroll Tax

Strong payroll experience and a sound understanding of payroll and superannuation obligations

The ability to prepare and understand financial reports and provide helpful information to management

Leadership

Proven experience leading or supervising an administration, accounts or office team

Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities

Confident and professional communication skills, particularly when dealing with customers

A collaborative, team-focused approach and willingness to be hands-on when needed

Above all, we’re looking for someone who can take ownership of the Administration Team, support the people around them and help keep a busy business running efficiently.

Remuneration will be negotiated with the successful candidate based on their skills and experience. The position is suited to an experienced administration/accounts professional looking to take ownership of a small team in a hands-on leadership role.
