About the Role

Sydney Local Health District is one of the fastest growing Local Health Districts in New South Wales. Our facilities and services are world class and our staff are dedicated, innovative and caring.

The purpose of the Trainee Vascular Sonographer role is to provide structured clinical training in the performance and interpretation of vascular ultrasound studies and supporting progression toward credentialing as a Vascular Sonographer. In this position you will work and rotate across Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPAH) and Concord Repatriation General Hospital (CRGH) to support service delivery, skill development, and exposure to a broad range of vascular diagnostic practices.

Ideal Candidate

- Hold a relevant professional registration and qualifications, including current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse; or for Radiographers, a Bachelor of Medical Radiation Science (Diagnostic Radiography)



with a Statement of Accreditation from the Australian Institute of Radiography and full AHPRA registration; or for Cardiac Technologists, a Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent qualifications and competencies deemed acceptable by the employer.
- Robust motivation and commitment to achieving qualification as a Vascular Sonographer, including readiness to undertake postgraduate study and structured clinical training across both RPAH and CRGH.
- Understanding of evidence-informed practice and critical thinking.
- Effective interpersonal skills, including well-developed written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work successfully and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Hold and maintain a current Australian driver's licence (P1 and P2 licence acceptable).
