Ad-Hoc Work | Flexible Hours | Brisbane & Surrounding Areas

Ray Turner Technologies is a “One Man Band” electronic security company based in Forest Lake, servicing Brisbane, Ipswich, the Gold Coast and surrounding areas.

We install professional CCTV, alarm systems, intercoms, access control and electronic security systems across residential, commercial and construction projects.

We are looking for a reliable and experienced Trades Assistant / Contractor to assist on an ad-hoc, as-required basis .

This is NOT a full-time position.

Work is genuinely casual and project-based , with hours varying depending on our workload. Some weeks there may be work available and other weeks there may be little or no work.

We are looking for someone who:

- Already has other employment or commitments
- Is a semi-retired tradesperson looking for occasional work
- Is a subcontractor looking for additional/fill-in work
- Is an experienced Trades Assistant who wants flexible additional hours
- Wants occasional work rather than guaranteed full time hours

If you are looking for 30–40 hours every week, this position is probably not suitable for you.

The Role

You will assist with electronic security installations throughout Brisbane and surrounding areas.

Typical work includes:

- Running and installing security cabling
- Assisting with installations
- Mounting cameras, detectors, readers and other equipment
- Using hand tools and battery-operated tools
- Drilling and fixing equipment
- Assisting with testing and commissioning
- General trade and construction assistance
- Keeping the work area clean and organised

Ceiling & Roof Space Work – ESSENTIAL

This is an important part of the position. Our work frequently involves running cables through ceiling cavities

You must be comfortable entering ceiling and roof spaces when required.

What We Are Looking For

- Reliable – if you agree to attend, you turn up
- Experienced in trade, construction, electrical, data or cabling work
- Comfortable using hand and battery tools
- Physically capable of performing the work required
- Comfortable working at heights, on ladders and in ceiling spaces
- Able to work safely around customers, other trades and construction environments
- Interested in producing neat, professional work
- Able to communicate clearly in English
- Punctual and professional

Applicants must have:

- Previous trade, construction, cabling or similar hands-on experience
- White Card
- Full Australian working rights
- Valuable spoken and written English
- Ability to work in ceiling and roof spaces
- Ability to use common hand and battery tools
- Ability to undertake manual work

The Type of Person We Want

- We are looking for someone who can turn up to a job, get stuck into the work and get the job done properly .
- You don't need to be a security technician — we can show you the security-specific side of the work.
- However, you do need to already have a good understanding of trade/construction work and be comfortable working with tools.

Reliability is extremely important to us.

If you say you are available for a particular job, we need to be able to rely on you being there.
