NEW GRADUATE PHYSIOTHERAPIST
We are looking for a NEW GRADUATE MUSCULOSKELETAL PHYSIOTHERAPIST to join our team at Preston Physiotherapy. If you're looking for a clinic where you can learn from experienced Physios, build your confidence and have plenty of support while you find your feet, we'd love to hear from you.
If you have an interest in women's health, we also have our sister company, Preston Pelvic Health, which provides an opportunity to explore this area as you progress.
JOIN US AT OUR STATE OF THE ART LOCATION
Preston Physiotherapy was established in 2016 and has continued to grow over the years. At the beginning of 2023 we moved into our purpose built clinic at 537 High Street, Preston. The clinic has 7 treatment rooms, a downstairs gym, upstairs Pilates studio, large staff room and ample parking for staff on site and in nearby streets.
We are also a multidisciplinary location, sharing the building with Preston Pelvic Health.
ABOUT US
We are a team of Senior Musculoskeletal Physios treating a broad range of presentations, including:
- Musculoskeletal conditions
- Clinical Pilates
- Sports
- Post-operative rehabilitation
- Chronic pain
- Vestibular & TMJ rehabilitation
- Falls prevention
- Pelvic health
We have senior Physios with decades of combined experience, so there is plenty of knowledge around the clinic and plenty of people to ask when you come across something you're not sure about. We also have a tiered pricing system based on promotional levels within the clinic. This allows us to pay above award and provides an opportunity to increase your earning potential as you progress.
We hire 99% based on culture fit. We want people who are kind, hardworking, willing to learn and who enjoy being part of a collaborative team.
We like to have fun at work and we think it's key that the team actually enjoys working together. We have regular social events and full staff functions throughout the year.
YOUR FIRST YEAR
We know that being a new grad can be a bit daunting.
You have spent years learning the theory and now suddenly you're the one sitting in front of a patient trying to work out what is going on!
We don't expect you to know everything.
We want you to spend your first year learning as much as possible, asking questions and developing your clinical reasoning and confidence.
You'll have experienced Physios around you to discuss cases with and we encourage our team to ask for help when they need it. No question is a stupid question.
PD / CASE REVIEWS
Continual education and professional development is an important value of our clinic.
We offer
- Weekly 1 hour 1:1 New Grad Mentoring for the first 6 months
- Ongoing weekly 30 minute case reviews
- Fortnightly whole team PD
- Monthly full-team case reviews
- External Physios / Referral partners presenting to the team
- Substantial paid administration time
We also provide a shorter working week at full pay, giving you dedicated time to stay on top of your notes, admin and learning without everything having to be done outside of your working hours.
THE ROLE
As a New Graduate Physiotherapist, you will see a mixed caseload of private, WorkCover, TAC and Medicare clients. We have a strong private patient list and work closely with local referrers.
You will be supported while you build your caseload and develop your clinical skills.
There is also plenty of opportunity to develop areas that interest you. Whether that's Clinical Pilates, sport, rehabilitation, chronic pain, women's health or something completely different, we're happy to help you work towards it.
PAY
Our New Graduates start on a salary,
so you can concentrate on learning rather than worrying about commission while you're finding your feet. After 12 months, you have the option to move to a base + commission structure if you wish.
We also have a tiered progression system within the clinic, with opportunities to progress both clinically and financially.
With the new award commencing shortly, you will be classified as AQF Level 7, 1st Year.
THE HOURS
We are flexible with hours and can offer part-time or full-time hours for the right person. We also offer a shorter working week at full pay (36 hours paid for 38).
Saturday shifts, which we require from our New Graduates, are paid at 1.5x salary (included in your salary for permanent shifts)
ADDITIONAL ROLES
We also give our Physios the opportunity to take on an additional paid role within the clinic. If you have an interest in something outside of treating patients, you can get involved in areas such as:
- Social media
- Marketing
- Team building
- Clinic projects
It's a positive opportunity to try something different and build some skills outside of clinical work.
ABOUT YOU
We are looking for someone who is:
- Keen to learn
- Open to feedback
- Hardworking and reliable
- A good communicator
- Compassionate and patient-focused
- Comfortable working as part of a team
- Interested in developing their clinical skills
You don't need to have everything figured out as a new grad. You just need to be willing to learn and put the work in.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor of Physiotherapy or equivalent
- Eligible for AHPRA registration
- First Aid & CPR or willing to obtain prior to commencing
- WWC Check or willing to obtain prior to commencing
- Professional Indemnity & Public Liability Insurance
SOUND LIKE YOU?
If you're looking for somewhere to start your career where you'll have experienced Physios around you, regular education, genuine support and a team that enjoys working together, we'd love to hear from you.
