Steel Masters Victoria Pty Ltd is seeking a skilled Onsite Steel Installer to join our team in Laverton, VIC. This is a full-time position that will involve the installation of steel structures on residential construction sites. If qualified to do so you will be required to operate a heavy rigid (HR) crane truck (manual transmission) for material deliveries and steel installations.
What you'll be doing
- Safely and accurately install steel structures, including steel beams and posts plus other components, on construction sites
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with project plans, safety standards and company policies
- Collaborate with the construction team to coordinate material deliveries and installations
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment
- Report any issues or concerns to the site supervisor
What we're looking for
- Proven experience as an onsite steel installer, with a strong understanding of steel construction techniques
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as an onsite steel installer is required
- Possess a current Heavy Rigid (HR) manual driver's licence and experience operating heavy vehicles or be willing to learn this skill.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills to overcome challenges on site
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team to deliver projects on time and to a high standard
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety
- Physically fit and able to perform manual labour tasks
- Follow instructions and able to communicate issues if needed.
