Customer Service / Contact Centre Operator – Newcastle

Location: Newcastle

Start: 25 September 2026

End: 24 March 2027

Pay: $37.50 per hour + Super

Hours: 35 hours per week

Roster: Rotating shifts between 6am–10pm, Monday to Sunday, including weekends and public holidays.

APG Workforce is seeking 12 Customer Service / Contact Centre Operators to join a NSW Government contact centre in Newcastle.

The Role

- Handle high-volume inbound customer enquiries
- Provide accurate information, advice and assistance
- Resolve enquiries or upscale complex matters where required
- Update customer records and databases accurately
- Deliver skilled and positive customer experiences
- Complete general administrative and processing tasks
- Work collaboratively within a fast-paced contact centre environment

About You

- 2–3 years' customer service experience in call centre, administration,



retail or similar
- Previous office-based experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong customer service and problem-solving abilities
- Intermediate computer skills
- Proficient in Outlook, Teams and Microsoft Office
- Ability to learn new systems quickly li>
- Previous government experience is desirable but not essential

Successful candidates must be available for full-time training and nesting before transitioning to their regular roster.

Hybrid working may become available following training and competency assessment; however, it is not guaranteed and is subject to business requirements.
