EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full-Time, Non-Exempt Employee

Career Team is looking to hire a Training and Follow-Up Specialist who connects program participants to education and training opportunities and provides professional follow‐up services to individuals previously served by the Deep East Texas Workforce Development Area. On the training side, this role develops training-provider partnerships, guides participants through training options and eligibility, and supports individual training account (ITA) compliance. On the follow‐up side, it delivers retention, re‐employment, and outcome‐verification services and documents post‐program results in the state's case management system. Work is performed under the supervision of the Performance Manager.

Training Coordination

n
- Serve as a primary liaison with training providers to develop new and nurture existing partnerships that grow education and training opportunities for participants
n
- Educate participants on the advantages of training and upskilling to broaden employment opportunities and career pathways
n
- Ensure current Eligible Training Provider List (ETPL) information is available to participants and staff, and maintain and disseminate approved vendor information and performance outcomes
n
- Facilitate group and individual assessment, eligibility, and training information sessions for participants exploring training opportunities
n
- Assess participant marketability and training suitability and facilitate appropriate referrals
n
- Review participant training needs, industry hiring patterns, and high-priority occupations to support career exploration and aligned career pathways
n
- Assist with the completion and review of individual training account (ITA) packets to ensure documents are complete and compliant
n
- Provide timely reports to Career Advisors, including the pipeline of potential training candidates, available programs, and providers, and consult with them on support services
n
n
Follow-Up Services
n
n
- Provide follow‐up services to designated former participants of the Workforce One-Stop system to ensure employment success and retention
n
- Engage unemployed follow‐up customers in job search plans and activities to obtain immediate and appropriate employment
n
- Engage customers at risk of job loss in retention and/or employment search activities
n
- Provide referrals as needed to support customers' retention needs
n
- Work to re‐engage and re‐establish contact with non‐responsive customers
n
- Research and obtain documentation to verify post‐participation employment status
n
- Implement policies applicable to follow‐up frequency requirements
n
- Document follow‐up activities and enter post-program employment and educational information into the state's case management system, ensuring case files include required verification documents
n
- In coordination with the Performance Manager, conduct targeted outreach and research to identify and document the employment and education status of designated post-program customers
n
n
General

- Maintain detailed documentation of all contacts in the state's system of record per contract requirements
n
- Track progress toward individual and team targets using appropriate platforms and databases
n
- Meet and/or exceed program benchmarks
n
- Complete all required reports
n
- Participate in all staff-related events as required, including training, staff meetings, and individual supervision
n
- Approach each day and task with a "ZAG" mindset
n
- Other duties and projects as needed
n
n
This position is expected to be 100% onsite, with local travel within the Deep East Texas Workforce Development Area to support training events, provider partnerships, and participant follow‐up.

To Qualify for This Role, You Must Have
n
n
- Bachelor's degree or higher, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
n
- Knowledge of the WIOA, TANF, and SNAP programs and follow-up/retention requirements
n
- Knowledge of community resources
n
- Strong analytical and problem‐solving skills, with the ability to make well‐thought‐out decisions
n
- Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Google Suite, and the ability to learn specialized databases and software systems
n
- Ability to establish and maintain positive, productive relationships with participants, training providers, and employers, including virtual relationships with former customers
n
- Ability to work in a variety of settings with a culturally diverse customer base and be culturally sensitive
n
- Ability to serve as a role model to customers and motivate them toward achieving goals
n
- Strong organizational and time‐management skills to juggle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a performance‐oriented environment
n
- Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team
n
- Adherence to the principles of Extreme Customer Service in all interactions with internal and external customers
n
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
n
- A Valid Driver's License
n
