About the role

We are seeking a Barista/Bar Person to join our team on a casual basis at our Pyrmont location. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for crafting quality beverages and providing outstanding customer service to our patrons. Whether you're preparing expertly made coffees, pouring drinks with precision, or engaging with guests, you'll play a vital part in creating the welcoming atmosphere that defines Zebra Lounge. This position offers flexibility and the opportunity to develop your skills within the hospitality and beverage service industry.

Key responsibilities

- Prepare and serve a variety of beverages including espresso-based coffees, cocktails, and other drinks to a high standard

- Operate and maintain coffee machines, espresso equipment, and bar tools in accordance with company standards

- Take customer orders accurately and efficiently, providing recommendations when appropriate

- Maintain a clean and organised bar and service area at all times

- Provide friendly, professional and attentive customer service to all patrons

- Process payments and manage the till accurately

- Stock and rotate beverages, ingredients, and supplies as needed

- Follow all health and safety protocols and responsible service of alcohol guidelines





- Work collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth service during busy periods

What we're looking for

- Previous experience as a barista, bar person, or in a similar hospitality role

- Strong knowledge of coffee preparation techniques and beverage service

- Ability to work efficiently in a rapid-paced environment whilst maintaining quality

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- A genuine passion for providing outstanding customer service

- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining cleanliness and standards

- Reliable and punctual with the ability to work flexible casual hours

- Current RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) certification or willingness to obtain it

- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights

- Desirable: barista certification or specialised coffee training
